About
A former coaching inn in South Dalton, East Yorkshire, the Pipe and Glass has been run since 2006 by James and Kate Mackenzie.Standing on the site of the original gatehouse to Dalton Park on the beautiful Dalton Estate, the Pipe and Glass is a cosy Yorkshire country pub, where customers can drop in for a pint of ‘Two Chefs’ ale, tuck into classic ‘pub grub’ dishes or enjoy the highest standards of modern cuisine.
With parts of the building dating back to the 17th century the Pipe and Glass underwent a major refurbishment in 2006, and has since been tastefully transformed both inside and out, to include five luxury boutique garden rooms, an exclusive private dining suite and an elegant, airy restaurant, as well as the welcoming, traditional bar area.
Most recently the grounds of the Pipe and Glass have been ambitiously redesigned to include a kitchen garden and herbarium, as well as two relaxed outdoor dining spaces and a dramatic bespoke key hole table.
In 2010, the Pipe and Glass was awarded East Yorkshire’s first Michelin Star, an award that it has retained ever since. As former Michelin Pub of the Year, other notable recognition includes the Good Pub Guides National Dining Pub and Yorkshire Dining Pub of the Year, well as consistently featuring in the Morning Advertiser Estrella Damn Top 50 Gastropubs.
