About

Wilberfoss is a village situated on the north side of the A1079, around 8 miles east of York city centre and 11 miles north-west of Market Weighton.

Lying in close proximity to two Roman roads, one to the east of the village and one to the south, now under the A1079. Evidence has been found of Roman occupation and Viking artefacts found show a possible involvement in the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066
