AboutTheatre in Beverley can be traced back to the plays that were performed by craft guild members in the Middle Ages. Performances took place across Beverley, including Cross Bridge only a stone's throw from where East Riding Theatre is now.
At present the building works are underway to transform the former chapel into a theatre with the capacity to seat an audience of 200 people. ERT will open its doors in December with a new adaptation by Vincent Regan of Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.
