About

Morten Gallery represents the work of Ceramicist Jenny Morten and her late husband painter and printmaker Geoff Morten RCA and invited artists. The gallery holds at least five major exhibitions a year of work by local and national artists as well as an inventory of Geoff's paintings, monoprints and etchings.

Jenny's ceramics draw inspiration from the textures and colours of the rugged coastal landscape of her native Yorkshire, she works from her studio at home as well as the gallery where she can be seen throwing on the wheel and hand building a range of practical porcelain and large coiled sculptural pieces.

Jenny runs a programme of weekly pottery classes and summer workshops from the gallery and is available for talks and demonstrations to Art and Community Groups.

As part of the Hull City Year of Culture 2017 Jenny has shown her work in the Ferens Gallery Open Exhibition and Studio Eleven in Hull.
