About
The original St Nicholas Church dates back at least to the 12th century and was in Holme Church Lane, opposite the site of the present Church. The Church fell in to disrepair and was demolished by the end of the 17th century. The present church was consecrated on the 3rd August 1880. At that time, St Nicholas Church was part of the St Mary's Parish. St Nicholas became a partish in its own right in 1960.
