About

At the ¼ and ½ mile points you will find a marker post, much like the ones that would have been found along this route when it was a railway line (between 1864 and 1964). The markers will take you along the trail a distance of ½ a mile (or 1 mile by return). You can continue along the Trans Pennine Trail, which runs all across England, 215 miles to Southport in Lancashire.
