Active Beacons Photopost Project Locations

Adventure along the beautiful East Yorkshire coastline to discover the Active Beacons! The beacons are the perfect activity to explore East Yorkshire and its beautiful sea views, whilst also doing your bit for coastal monitoring. Here is the list of where you can find them: 

  • Sewerby to Bempton: Offering breathtaking coastal views as part of the King Charles III England Coast Path. Passing key attractions such as Sewerby Hall and Gardens  and RSPB Bempton Cliffs, home to a variety of seabirds including puffins and gannets.  
  • Hornsea: With golden sandy beaches and an abundance of traditional seaside charm you can certainly make the most of your time here. If you are out and looking for action, once you have ticked off the beacons then don't miss a visit to Hornsea Mere, Yorkshires largest freshwater lake. Here you can row, fish or appreciate the birds. 
  • Withernsea: Featuring a prominent lighthouse with fantastic views of the coast, Withernsea is a charming seaside town with a rich history.
  • Spurn Point: Known for its iconic, ever-changing peninsula that stretches between the North Sea and the Humber Estuary, the reserve is a haven for wildlife and nature enthusiasts. Before visiting you can prebook a thrilling ride on the reserve on the Unimog!
  • Hessle Foreshore: Popular for birdwatching and located along the Humber Estuary, this picturesque spot promises a fantastic view of the Humber Bridge.
