Tickets
Can I receive a refund for my ticket order?
As referenced in the EOBC handbook, general rules, page 14, ticket, point 3:
'Refunds will not be issued unless the organisers are provided with a reason for non-attendance which must sit outside of the control of the individual. The decision to issue a refund will solely be at the organiser's discretion. If, however, a refund is granted, a £5 admin charge will be implemented for each ticket purchased’.
Can my ticket be transferred to another individual if I am no longer able to attend?
Yes, you can request to switch names over on your booking. Please contact info@veyevents.co.uk and we will advise.
Please note: it will be the original ticket holder’s responsibility to get the ticket fee from the replacement competitor.
Can I purchase tickets when I arrive at the event?
We would encourage all competitors to purchase tickets prior to take advantage of the online discounted price and avoid queuing at the ticket office at Sand le Mere Holiday Park.
Tickets can be purchased from the Sand le Mere EOBC Ticket Office at the following times:
- Thursday 12th March: 4pm – 8pm
- Friday 13th March: 2pm – 8pm
- Saturday 14th March: 7am – 9am
- Sunday 15th March: 7am – 9am.
Please see page 12 of the EOBC Handbook for current competition ticket prices.
I bought tickets online and have a reference number, but payment has not come out of my bank account. What should I do?
If payment has not been taken out your bank account, then your tickets have not been ordered/processed. In this instance, you will have to re-order the tickets through the booking form. Please email info@veyevents.co.uk if you are unsure.
I have not received my tickets, when will these be posted?
Due to the high volume of tickets we need to process, please leave 28 days from purchasing your tickets until you contact us.
If for some reason your ticket does not arrive in the post prior to the event, replacement tickets will be available for collection at the event ticket office at Sand Le Mere Holiday Park (please check the ticket office opening times in the EOBC Handbook).
What should I do if I have lost my ticket?
A new ticket can be sent to you, but you will need to provide your original ticket number from your OBC reference if purchased online. Please contact us on info@veyevents.co.uk and we can arrange for a new ticket to be sent to you.
When do tickets go on sale for the next EOBC?
Tickets go on sale in September – please keep an eye on the website for ticket sales going live.

Competition
Can I weigh in my catch separately to my team members (pairs/team competitors)?
Yes, the other members of the team do not have to be present with you at the weigh in. All team and pairs scores will be collated by the organising team and added together to give a final pair/team result with the winners displayed at the event presentation.
Can a competitor enter more than one pair/team?
No, an individual may only enter a singular pair and a singular team.
Can me and my friend/family member share equipment?
No, competitors must use their own equipment and should have a minimum distance of 10 metres between the next competitors.
Can I fish next to friends/family members?
Yes, competitors can fish next to one another as long as there is a minimum 10m gap between each other. The competition is not pegged and therefore you are in control of which location you would like to fish in.
Where can I find the rules for this year’s competition?
Please view and download the EOBC handbook for full competition information including: ticket information, fishing zones, competition rules and regulations.
What are the Bass rules this year for the European Open Beach Championships?
The qualification of Bass as an allowable species for this competition is dependent on DEFRA regulations in place at the time of the European Open Beach Championship – regular updates will be posted on our website and via our event EOBC Facebook page.
Results
What does aggregate result mean?
Aggregate results are your heaviest fish on Saturday and heaviest fish on Sunday added together to total a combined weight. The winner of the overall event will have the largest aggregate score. Please also be aware that you do not necessarily need to catch on both days to be in with a chance of winning an aggregate prize.
How do the results work?
Results are based on catching the heaviest fish, Saturday and Sunday’s results are based on an individual’s heaviest catch of that day.
The overall competition is based on the combined weight of the heaviest catch on Saturday and Sunday.
Prizes are awarded to the heaviest catch in each category.
Accessibility
Are fishing aids allowed for people with disabilities?
People with recognised disabilities are allowed additional aids and receive help when casting out their rod. They may also receive assistance when landing their fish providing other competitors do not touch the rod.

What is the age limit to enter the junior category?
Juniors must be under the age of 16 on the final day of the competition. Anybody over the age of 16 must purchase a senior ticket. Juniors (under the age of 16) can decide if they want to enter either the junior category or senior category, but they cannot enter both.
Are fishing aids allowed for juniors?
Juniors are allowed assistance when landing their fish, providing other competitors do not touch the rod. Juniors must be able to cast without support.
