East Yorkshire has it all, and then some. Miles of stunning coastline, the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, market towns full of independent shops and brilliant places to eat. However you like to holiday, you'll find your version of it here.
Walk the chalk cliffs at Bempton where half a million seabirds come to nest each spring. Explore Beverley, one of England's finest medieval market towns. Take the dog for a long beach walk at Bridlington, then sit down to the best fish and chips you've had in years. Or simply find a bench somewhere in the Wolds, look out over the scenery, and remember what a proper holiday feels like.
Whether you're planning a family seaside break, a short escape with someone you love, or a day out on your doorstep, East Yorkshire is closer than you think and well worth the journey.
Something is always happening in East Yorkshire. Race the Waves brings thousands of spectators to Bridlington's South Beach to watch vintage vehicles race along the sand. The Beverley Festival of Christmas is the UK's biggest single day Christmas market. The Walking East Yorkshire Festival opens up the Yorkshire Wolds, the coast and everything in between every September. The Jazz and Blues Festival at Burton Agnes Hall fills the grounds of one of England's finest country houses with live music every July. And beyond the headline events, East Yorkshire's towns and villages host a packed year-round calendar of food festivals, markets, heritage open days, theatre and much more.
