Walking the Wolds with Bill and Mrs M
After the ups and downs of the past few years, this year I decided to start a quest to feel healthier, happier and generally much more positive – and what better place to do that but in the beautiful Yorkshire Wolds? So together with my dog Bill, I started our exploration of the hills and dales, discovering stunning scenery, excellent footpaths and superb dog walks, which we both thoroughly enjoyed, despite occasionally getting lost and falling over (me, not Bill)!
So far, I have found hidden poetry benches, prehistoric earthworks, charming churches and wonderful landscapes – Bill meanwhile, has done lots of crazy running, sniffed many cow pats and enthusiastically greeted fellow walkers!
I hope that by sharing our adventures (including lots of photos, historical information, refreshment stops and and detailed descriptions) we can help others to find their way in the Wolds.
If you happen to spot a crazy, one-eyed red-retriever gamboling about in the hills and his owner leisurely ambling after him, be sure to stop and say hello!
