Food and drink in Hornsea

Hungry in Hornsea? Not a problem! You’ll find a fantastic choice of places to eat in this popular seaside town. From cosy cafés to traditional pubs and modern restaurants, there's something for everyone. Not forgetting everyone’s favourite treat when visiting the coast – fish and chips.

Cosy cafes and coffee shops

Hornsea's cafes and coffee shops provide a welcoming spot for light bites, homemade cakes, and excellent coffee, perfect after exploring the town. Head to Café Eden for delicious home cooked food, cream teas and French press coffee or to the café in Hornsea Hub which is conveniently located on the seafront and welcomes dogs too. The perfect place to rest sandy paws after a run on the beach.

Hearty pub food

Traditional pubs like The Victoria and The Marine are popular spots where you can enjoy a hearty pub meal, from hearty pies to fish and chips, alongside a pint of locally brewed ale. A slice of East Yorkshire's hospitality at its finest.

Many of Hornsea’s pubs are full of history and character, featuring original features like exposed wooden beams, cosy nooks, and, in some cases, roaring fireplaces.

Fish and chips by the sea

Enjoying crispy fish and chips whilst admiring the views over Hornsea’s Blue Flag beach is always a pleasure. And with two award-winning chip shops on hand, you’re well covered for a taste of the coast in Hornsea. Whitehead’s and Seafront Chippy have both scooped multiple awards and are a must-try. And you’ll find several other options along the promenade serving up lovely fluffy chips and succulent flaky fish. Dig in!

Locally produced ice cream

A trip to the seaside isn’t complete without a scoop or two of delicious creamy ice cream. And when visiting Hornsea, a visit to Mr Moo’s always hits the spot. Located just north of Hornsea and only a short drive away, they make their ice cream on their farm using milk from local dairy cows. Choose from over 35 flavours and if you’re feeling extra indulgent, why not treat yourself to one of their huge sundaes?

Mr Moo’s serve bites too so it’s a great place to stop off for lunch, especially when paired with a walk on nearby Skipsea beach.
