An award-winning East Yorkshire glamping site is offering a new experience for those who love the great outdoors – an ‘escape to starlight’ stay under the stars in a mirrored dome.

Joining the existing two hand-crafted log cabins and a wooden roundhouse yurt at Acorn Glade is a new futuristic-looking stargazing mirror yurt, described as providing accommodation with ‘spherical quirkiness’.

Set in four acres of meadowland beside a lake on the fringes of the Yorkshire Wolds, the family-owned glamping site, which has a strong eco-friendly ethos, has just unveiled its newest addition.

The Starlight Mirror dome features a reflective futuristic design, a floor-to-ceiling Stargazing Window and a bespoke locally made handcrafted king-size circular bed, perfect for looking out at the stars as well as over the lake.

Made of recyclable polycarbonate, the dome’s ergonomic shape also enhances energy efficiency, structural strength and natural ventilation, as well as providing better resilience to high winds.

Inside, the style is described as Scandinavian retro chic and includes a table and chairs that can be moved to enjoy morning sun or the sunset, log burning stove, and solar fairy lights. All cooking utensils are also provided, along with freshly ground coffee, hot chocolate and assorted teas.

A hot indoor shower powered by air source heat pumps is located a few steps away.

Open all year, the Starlight Mirror Yurt sleeps two and costs from £120 a night, with a minimum stay of two nights.
