We’re all looking for the perfect pic that sums up our time in somewhere amazing. When friends ask ‘where have you been’ and ‘what did you do’ - we all want to respond with a series of fab photos to make them wish they had been there too. East Yorkshire has its pick of perfect picture spots, so grab your phone and let’s go!

North Landing & Thornwick Bay, Flamborough
White, chalk cliffs with grassy tops, pebbled, golden sand and the waves crashing on the shore. These two coves in Flamborough are idyllic, picturesque and striking. See traditional cobble boats and fishing boats sail from North Landing, explore the caves and rock pools, or enjoy the sea views from the cliff top path. Whether calm, blue summer waves are lapping the sand or there is the crash of stormy seas, and whites of the waves lashing against the cliffs, this part of the coastline always makes for a dramatic picture.

Woldgate, Bridlington
A road of inspiration for David Hockney. Multiple series of paintings produced by the artist came from the East Yorkshire Countryside starting at Woldgate road. This could be the starting block for your countryside exploration, winding along country roads and through woodland, over valleys - the views will always amaze. Spot petite villages hidden amongst the country fields, the colours of which are always vibrant and a sure sign of the season.

A walk in blue
There’s something so mesmerising about wandering through a sea of blue flowers, as bluebells cover the grounds of woodlands in Spring. Head to Burton Bushes on Beverley Westwood or Nut Wood at Raywell during April and May to experience a sea of beautiful blue flowers, dappled by the sunlight through the trees and feel the freshness of Spring. The grounds of Wassand Hall & Gardens is home to a wonderful woodland walk with a myriad of bluebells embellishing the ground during spring.  If you’re visiting later in the year, Wolds Way Lavender farms rows upon rows of purple and blue lavender, with beautifully kept lavender gardens, giant outdoor games and woodland creating a tranquil and picturesque experience.

Beverley
From the towering Minster to the North Bar, the serene Westwood and the buzz of a busy high street, Beverley is always bursting with colour and character. From enjoying cocktails al fresco in Wednesday Market to ladening your arms with shopping bags from the independent boutiques in the town, the photo opportunities are aplenty.  Head out on to Westwood and meet the cows as they graze freely along the pasture.

Bridlington Harbour
Fishing boats, pleasure boats, stacked crab pots and the odd seagull or two - Bridlington harbour is bustling. From watching boats through the harbour walls, to the unladening of the day's catch, the Gansey Girl on the North Pier and the feeling of freedom at the end of the harbour pier, Bridlington’s working harbour offers such a variety you’re certain to find the perfect shot. Head there at sunset to catch the silhouette of moored boats against a vibrant sky.

This is just what we think … and we think we’ve picked some of the best but we’d love it if you got in touch on Instagram, Facebook & Twitter with your favourite photos that you’ve taken of the area.
